Good Looking Brunette's 23rd Birthday...

Our usual columnist is out, so today I get to substitute. My editor (She is small, cute, and whines a lot when I am on the computer. Very demanding.) assigned me to cover a birthday party.

The birthday party in question was supposed to be for a 32 year old mother of three, but when I arrived all I could find was this knock-out brunette who couldn't have been older than 23 and her three verrrry young friends. There were all of the usual birthday type stuff, presents, cakes, candles, so I assumed that I must be at the right place and that my editor must have got the age wrong (happens all the time).

I told my photographer to get some good pictures (especially of the brunette, I could tell she was just my type!) and we stayed to see how the party would go down.

We had some very good chicken-salad sandwiches and dessert was a white cake with a lemon filling and frosting. The friends came through with the gifts, a book, and a new lamp that the brunette had been wanting. After the party, while my photographer packed up his equipment, I even got the brunette's phone number (it seemed strangely familiar).

Hopefully my editor will like this piece (It doesn't seem likely. She fell asleep watching me type it). The regular columnist should be back for the next installment, but maybe I'll get to fill in every now and then. It's okay with me if this isn't a full-time gig, that will give me some time to get to know the brunette.
