The Early Bird Gets...Tired Faster

I got up with Tyler this morning. Well, not with him (he got up at 4:15am) but in time to spend a few minutes with him before he left for work at 5:30am. I used to do this all the time. He got up and took a shower and read scriptures, then I got up about 5am to make him breakfast before he left. This also gave me a little personal time before the kids were up for school. Then I had Lida. Now the days that I get up with Tyler are rather fewer than we prefer. But then again, the days that we go to bed at the same time are rather fewer too. Having an infant certainly turns your routine on its head! I think I'm finally going to have to give in and go the Chiropractor next week. My neck has been bothering me for weeks and it never hurts more than when I'm trying to sleep. Hence my waking up early this morning...

It's just as well that I did. I have far more things to do than time to do them in these days. I tried so hard to write something meaningful yesterday and failed miserably because Lida wouldn't stop fussing. (By the time I had the pictures downloaded she was downright mad.)
I have, sitting on my counter, 3 boxes of apples that I need to turn into applesauce. On the floor in my room (neatly sorted into loads) you will find 3 loads of laundry that still need to be washed and one load that needs to be folded (that one is in a basket). I have to make a cape, a crown and a sword for Andrew's Halloween costume and a tail and ears for Katherine's before Saturday's Trunk-or-Treat. And the Relief Society President wants me to call half the ward (literally) to inform them of a fund-raising garage sale that is taking place this weekend. Oh! And Tyler wants me to cut his hair. Whew! I'm tired just thinking about it all. Does life ever slow down??? Or am I doomed to feel like I'm caught in a whirlwind until the day I die?

Aren't babies wonderful! That sounds a lot like my life right now too. Somehow once the baby is about 6 months old life gets a lot easier, not the same as before, but not quite so tiring. Your little girl looks beautiful!

Hooray!!! I too love real pen and paper communication, but I must admit that seeing someone has commented on my blog does give me a little thrill of excitement. And boy, do I hear you! Life just seems absolutely out of control with so much to be done and really not enough time to do it. And yet here I sit at the computer! Someday I hope I'll figure it out.

Rachel, you are an inspiration to me with all the things you do the "old fashioned way." Making your own apple sauce...wish you were here to teach me these things! (Someday, our apple tree will be old enough to produce and I'd love to make our own apple sauce!) Since these homemaking skills are lost arts, even in the Church, I have to teach myself from books. Ahh, I wish I had someone to show me the ropes in person.
