Our little Lida is One Year Old!! It hardly seems like it has been a year since she joined our family. And yet, I can hardly remember what it was like to only have two kids.
Lida certainly came with her own personality and opinions. It seems she has been trying to grow up as fast as she can. At four months she insisted on eating at the table with the family. She was walking at 11 months exactly, and she already has three words in her vocabulary - dog, kitty, and Moo. She especially likes Moo. Tyler claims that she has added "bark" to her list of words, but I haven't heard her say it. Lida's favorite book is "The Big Red Barn" by Margaret Wise Brown, from which she learned Moo.
Unfortunately, we didn't have much of a birthday celebration for Lida-it was such a hectic day. We had pack meeting that night, and Tyler and I were getting ready to leave for the Youth Trek the next day. But we did have cupcakes and ice cream and she opened (with help, of course) a couple of presents. Fortunately, Lida was too young to understand that she was getting the short end of the deal in the birthday department. As you can see from the picture, she was pretty happy with all the attention.
Lida is such a joy to have in our family and we all adore her. The time has gone way too fast!!!
