their cousins (always a reason for joy) and I don't have cake (no matter how good it is) sitting around the house for the next week. As much as I like cake, I have found that it has a rather pernicious influence over me. It whispers softly from the counter or refrigerator - "Rachel...Rachel...don't you want just one little slice? It wouldn't hurt to have just a lick of the frosting from the plate...No one will ever know that you fudged just a little..." Except that everyone knows because it slides down my throat and settles on my hips and NEVER goes away. So, thanks to my family, we had a lovely birthday celebration and the evil carrot cake with cream cheese frosting was devoured in short order and I didn't have to listen to the whispers from the kitchen.

Very nice Rachel! Perhaps I will make you make me a birthday cake when you are here. I want a heart shaped german chocolate cake with pink frosting and an edible Denver Temple on top.
Wow! The cake looks very nice, Rachel. Andrew must have been happy with it. Maybe you could give me some decorating lessons this summer. Although last time I asked Stephen said he wants a volcano made out of cocoa pebbles. Kind of like a giant rice crispy treat. I think I'm up for that. It even sounds fun!!!
The cake looks very good. My poor kids just get a boring rectangle cake with sprinkles.
you are amazing. I can make rectangle cakes with sprinkles. That's about the extent of my skills. I need all kinds of lessons from you!
you are such a very talented person rachel, and a thoughtful and loving mother to your children. i wish i can make atleast a delicious cake. i tried many times but nothing has change, but i will not quit..
