It's All Lida's Fault...

Well, the month of May is over and I still haven't finished my non-fiction book for the month. I want you to know, however, that it isn't my fault! It is Lida's. Since Lida has insisted on not being rocked to sleep and is drinking a lot fewer bottles, I find that I don't have nearly so much time to read as I used to have. Sigh... The book I am reading (and will endeavor to finish) is called "The Real George Washington." As you may have guessed, it is a biography of George Washington which is surprisingly easy to get through (not like some others I have tried in the past). I have already read 350 pages - I only have about 350 more to go...

In the meantime, I'm up to my ears in summer plans. Andrew's birthday is tomorrow and he wants a carrot cake (not round or square - something "fancy") with a 3D bunny eating a carrot on top, and homemade Mud Pie Ice cream. So, no pressure, right? I am also feverishly preparing for the Stake Youth Trek in a couple of weeks. Tyler and I were asked to be a Ma and Pa. We will have 6 youth in our "family," and lucky Alice will add 3 young children to hers. I feel guilty just thinking about it...

I don't do fancy cakes. The closest my kids get is Bunt cakes. My kids are so deprived. lol

Happy Birthday Andrew! That does sound like a very fancy cake. I don't think I'll mention it to my kids because I have no idea how to pull that off.

Sounds like a very good book you are reading. I finally read The Hiding Place last month. It was so wonderful!
