Lida-isms

I am always amazed at the things kids come up with...Well, some kids, anyway. When Andrew and Katherine were younger, I used to despair of them ever developing an imagination. I still do, actually...Lida, on the other hand, has imagaination to spare.

I was helping her dress yesterday morning, when I noticed a bruise on her shoulder.
"Lida! What happened to your shoulder? How did you get that bruise?"
She looks up at me, cool as you please and says, "The monkey did it."
Well she should know...

Lida is also our only child to give Tyler and I pet names. Tyler is "Moddy" and I am "Da-mah."

A week ago we were driving home from her friend's house when she calls up to me -"What's that on my hands?"
Well, I couldn't see her hands (I was driving, after all) - "I don't know, Lida. What do you think it is?"
She pauses for a moment, considering. Then - "Uhm, I think marker and...fingers."
I couldn't argue with that!
