Frankie, Lovey, and Stinky

Well, my least favorite holiday has come and gone. I don't know why Halloween is such torture - maybe it is my children's idea of dressing up. They come up with the oddest schemes. Last year, Andrew wanted to be a frilled lizard! I agonized over that one for weeks before I finally convinced him to change his mind. He went as King Arthur instead. I still didn't do a great job, but I did my best. Part of the problem is that I flatly refuse to spend a ton of money on a halloween costume - not to mention hours and hours at the sewing machine!

This year they decided they wanted to be the Millionaire and his Wife from Gilligan's Island - Thurston Howell III and Lovey. Andrew did finally change his mind to Frankenstein (which was considerably easier), but Katherine insisted on Lovey. How do you dress a little girl up as Lovey so that everyone knows who she is?????? Well, again, I did my best. I'm rather proud of her parasol - just a dressed up childrens umbrella. She absolutely HAD to have the parasol, but the only time she touched it was for this picture - it was too much trouble to carry around...

I can't take credit for Lida's costume. I have resolutely refused to dress up my little children who don't have the slightest inkling that they're missing out on anything. But Andrew and Katherine insisted that Lida had to have a costume too, so we borrowed the skunk costume from Alice. Lida had so much fun at the Trunk-or-Treat!! It didn't take her long to figure out how this trick-or-treating thing worked. Soon she was pulling Tyler around the parking lot, holding her bucket out for the candy. When the bucket became too heavy for her to carry, she just dragged it on the ground - she absolutely refused to let Tyler touch it!

For some reason Katherine wanting to be Lovey doesn't surprise me, and it fits so well!
Halloween is my least favorite holiday. I don't make costumes either, in fact the only way I get them is if they are at a thrift store or a garage sale. Although, Phillip's got his this year because I bought the hat while I was in Baltimore. He wears it all the time.

Funny, our 2-year-old insisted we carry around her bucket when we got too heavy, but heaven forbid that we should touch any of the contents!!! Glad they had fun!

Very nice! Everyone looks wonderful! Noah caught on at our trunk-or-treat really quick too! He even caught on to the "thank you" part of it!

You have way more ambition then I do!! Your kids look great though, nicely done. By the way- I love the picture of Katherine on the side bar.
