Energy Fair

Last Thursday, we had the great and wonderful and thoroughly exciting opportunity to attend Andrew's PACE Science Fair (the theme this year was renewable energy sources). He has spent the last semester working on a group project on Hydroelectric Power. Andrew had to contribute 40 note cards with information about hydroelectric power from at least 3 sources (which had to be documented correctly). The group then put together an information poster, a game (it was a word search), a demonstration or model, and a presentation for the fair. It was a lot of work, and he was at a disadvantage because he started PACE at the semester and missed all the instruction about how to find and recognize facts in an article.
The Energy Fair was PACKED that night. There were dozens of booths (they were all pretty much about the same 6 or 8 topics) and wall to wall people. I must admit that I wasn't all that thrilled about being there. Tyler had Presidency meeting that night, so Katherine and Lida had to come with me. Lida is a HUGE armful to carry around for 2 hours, and I don't think she liked the noise much. But, we all lived through it, and Andrew appreciated our coming. We are very proud of him and the work he is doing in school.

That is a lot of work! Good for him! I don't think I had to put that much effort into a school project until high school.
