The other day Lida asked me if bears were real animals or only pretend. I assured her that they were very real.
"How big are they," she then wanted to know.
So I explained that some bears were about as tall as Daddy and some were lots bigger than Daddy.
Today I heard Alvin proclaim that he was the Bear Hunter and he raced into the Library (of our house) and shot the Teddy Bear. I think he must have been spending time with Uncle James and Noah... How did we fail to communicate the reality of bears to one child and the idea of bear hunting to the other???
