I thought I would get our blog updated and tell you a little about Alvin. About time, I know...We celebrated Alvin's first birthday in August. As you can see from the picture, his favorite part was the cake! He also very much enjoys playing with the (musical) toy Grandma and Grandpa Mobley gave him. (His mother enjoys the toy rather less than he does...) "Little Buddy," as Lida calls him, is
all boy. He loves balls and trucks and his Little People Barnyard. And woe betide the unwary individual who tries to take them away!! Alvin is a Daddy's boy and there is nothing anyone can do about it. As soon as Tyler walks in the door, Alvin begins howling at the top of his lungs until Daddy picks him up. Tyler is forced either to carry him around everywhere he goes (including from room to room in the house) or listen to him
howl because Daddy left. My nickname for Alvin is "Chunkers" because he is such an armful to carry. He only just started walking about a week ago and he is still a little unsteady on his legs, so we still have to carry him whenever we go out. It's no wonder my back is tired at the end of the day!!
Three things we love about Alvin:
1. Alvin loves to be with his family. He isn't about to be left out just because he is the baby!
2. He is fun to tickle and snuggle with. When he is tired all he needs is his blanket, his bink and snuggle on my lap and
oh! how content he is.
3. Alvin loves his bath! He learned early on that water is great fun to splash and his enjoyment in it hasn't abated. Giving Alvin a bath provides me with an excellent opportunity to clean the bathroom. (I'm not sure the bathroom needs cleaning quite so often, though.)

He's so cute!! And he sounds a lot like our Samuel. A daddy's boy who's pretty happy-go-lucky. They make life a joy.
What a sweet boy! And what a lucky dad Tyler is to have Alvin want to be with him so much!
